Iran creates first 2 supercomputers

Baku, February 23 (AZERTAC). Iran has reportedly joined the club of countries which can create and manage supercomputers. On Wednesday in Tehran the first two supercomputers were demonstrated. The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took part in the ceremony at the Amir Kabir University and stated Iran will turn into “a source of knowledge” for the world soon. By creating the computers, Iran has joined the list of ten countries possessing super-speed operational systems. The project started two years ago in the country and dozens of professionals have contributed to it. The units shown are able to effect up to 32 trillion simultaneous operations per second. China, the US and Japan top the list of supercomputer creators, with the fastest one being in China.
