ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCES RECOVERY WORK

The works to reconstruct the objects of education, services, transport sector are being implemented within the frameworks of the program “Renovation of objects damaged by the earthquake”, Azerbaijan Agency for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Areas said. $9,2 million were allocated to recovery works by the Islamic Development Bank. 39 schools in Baku damaged by the quake will be renovated by late September. Joint-stock company Azeragrartikinti renovates gas pipelines of six districts of Baku. Mingachervir reservoir is expected to be reconstructed by the end of 2004.

Azersanayitikinti, winner of the tender for water supply system improvement in Yevlakh, will wrap up its works in January next year while construction of a new bridge across Samur river - in June 2005. Bakikorputikinti is going to reconstruct the bridge across the Shin river and railway crossing in Bakikhanov settlement.
