JDI Develops 2.3-Inch Display With 1280 x 800 Resolution
Baku, June 9 (AZERTAC). After LG's Retina-beating 12.7-cm (5-inch) LCD display with a 1080p resolution, here comes another display that sets new pixel density records. Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has developed a liquid crystal display (LCD) in the direct-view panel field that features a resolution of 651ppi. Although the screen size is only 5.8 cms (2.3 inches), you will be surprised to know that the resolution format of the display is 1280 × 800 pixels (WXGA) thus resulting in a display which is far sharper than anything else available in the market.
According to the company, the resolution format of its small direct-view display is nearly twice the resolution of today's high-resolution smart phone displays.
The new LCD with 651ppi resolution is said to enable high-quality images that are comparable to film-based photographs. Furthermore, this ultra-high resolution display enables clear lines, letters and characters unlike low-resolution displays that are hindered by jagged lines and characters.
