Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko’s COVID-19 test has returned positive.

The mayor broke the news himself, via his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

"Friends! The news is disappointing for me. I had my COVID-19 test return positive. I fell ill for the second time. Since I’m vaccinated, I hope for a light course of the disease. I self-isolated, undergoing treatment at and working from home. Please take care of yourself! The virus is aggressive and spreads quickly. Remain aware as you communicate with a large number of people or visit public settings. Follow the rules," Klitschko wrote.

As reported earlier, for the past 24 hours, on January 16, a total of 5,072 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed across Ukraine.
