MEETING AT OFFICE OF GENERAL PROSECUTOR
Sincerely greeting the guests, Mr. Z. Garalov pointed out the importance of relations established between General Prosecutor’s Office and the Council of Europe, including conducting joint seminar- trainings and other arrangements, as well as provided them with detailed information on the structural and other reforms implemented in accordance with world and democratic standards in relevant bodies. He also mentioned the work carried out in the sphere of fight against organized crime and corruption updating the guests in detail on the point of the Law “On Fight Against Corruption” confirmed by the Presidential Executive Order of March 3 2004, and measures on founding Anti-corruption Department under the General Prosecutor’s office.
Having thanked for the warm meeting, Director General of Legal Affairs of Council of Europe Guy de Vel highly appreciated the reforms being realized in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and express opinion on further development of cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the parties have also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
