MEETING IN MILLI MAJLIS
As was stated, Chairman of parliament reminded that the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia develop on ascending. Special merits in achievement of the current level of our relations belong to the heads of state Heydar Aliyev and Vladimir Putin. The policy of good neighborhood and strategic cooperation successfully proceeds thanks to President Ilham Aliyev and President Vladimir Putin.
Secretary General of the Council of Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Michael Krotov conveyed greetings of Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia Sergey Mironov and Chairman of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov, and also their congratulations occasionally on Novruz Bayram. He informed that session of Assembly on which questions of combat against terrorism, narcotics and the organized crime will be discussed would take place in April of this year.
In 2005, the 100th anniversary of creation of the State Duma will be marked, he said. In this connection, the stand of photos of the Azerbaijan deputies submitted in due time in the State Duma were prepared.
Further, Mr. Krotov informed that the commemorative medal was founded in connection with 60th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from blockade in the Great Patriotic War. With this award the Azerbaijan fighters who have shown heroism in liberation of the city from the German fascists also have been awarded. The purpose of his visit to Baku, just also is connected to delivery of medals to fighters-veterans.
Then, Mr. Alaskarov and Michael Krotov handed over the medals to the defenders of Leningrad Ismail Ibrahimov, Mammad Piriyev and Rashid Askarov.
The veterans have thanked for the attention rendered to them.
