MILLI MAJLIS AMENDED SOME LAWS
Before the beginning of session, Chairman of parliament Murtuz Alaskarov has congratulated deputies on the occasion of May 28 - Day of Republic and on behalf of Milli Majlis has directed to the President of Azerbaijan a letter of congratulations. Then, the parliamentarians discussed the bill “On amendments and supplements in some legislative acts of the Azerbaijan Republic”. Chairman of standing committee of Milli Majlis on legal affairs and state construction Ali Huseynov informed, that the Draft envisions amendments and supplements in the laws “On the Constitutional Court”, “On courts and judges ”, in the Civil-procedural Code, the Criminal-procedural Code of the Azerbaijan Republic. In amendment in the Law “On Constitutional Court”, it is offered to pay to the judge of the Constitutional Court on labor holiday due to the state budget as lump sum payment the grant at a rate of the bi-monthly official salary, insure the life and health of judges due to the state budget at the rate of the 5-years official salary, and at retirement to pay them pension at the rate of 80 percent of the official salary.
In changes in the Civil-procedural and Criminal-procedural Codes, it is underlined, that in case of revealing by the European Court of infringement by courts of the Azerbaijan Republic by consideration of the case of the European Convention, the said legal acts will be reconsidered. Powers for consideration of legal acts on the new facts connected to infringement of the rights and freedom is granted only to Plenum of the Supreme Court. Changes of editorial character have been brought in other laws basically.
The member of standing committee of Milli Majlis on questions of culture Nizami Jafarov spoke of the bill “On development and protection of the Azerbaijan carpet art”.
After opinions and offers of deputies and the invited experts on the Drafts were listened, the document has been adopted in the first reading.
