MINISTER OF INTERIOR AFFAIRS MET WITH PACE OBSERVERS
Warmly welcoming the guests, the Minister dwelt on control over the criminal situation, work carrying out by the government, law enforcement bodies, as well as interior one on elimination of the negative consequences of tension created by radical opposition on the eve of Presidential elections.
The guests were informed on positive processes taken place at the society due to the purposeful domestic and foreign policy of the leadership, as well as successful reforms at the interior affairs bodies.
It was noted that as a result of legal, democratic reforms in the country, Azerbaijan is one of the CIS states, which has positive indices from the standpoint of citizens’ calmness.
The Minister stated that on the occasion of the events occurred on October 15-16 and later on, the investigation ascertained that leadership of Musavat Party and Azerbaijan Democratic Party planned mass riots, and the leading organizers, instigators and active participants of these antisocial events will be instituted to the proceedings.
The fact that European Deputies heard both sides, familiarized with relevant materials, let according to the Minister, rely on objective and just evaluation of the occurred events.
Some other issues of mutual interest were discussed, as well as Minister of Interior Affairs answered the questions of the PACE deputies.
