Nakhchivan State University, Chinese University sign agreement on dual-degree programme
Baku, October 20, AZERTAC
Nakhchivan State University (NSU) and China’s Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU) have signed an agreement on a 2+2 dual-degree programme in information security.
Under the programme, students will spend their first two undergraduate years in Nakhchivan and the next two in Beijing, earning degrees from both universities. Admissions are expected to begin in the 2027–2028 academic year.
The agreement was signed during an official visit to China by an NSU delegation led by Rector Elbrus Isayev. The programme will provide students with international academic experience and strengthen their expertise in information security and cybersecurity.
Students completing part of their studies in Beijing will gain practical experience by using BISTU’s laboratories, technological infrastructure and research facilities.
During the visit, the sides also discussed joint educational programmes in information technology and cybersecurity, academic mobility for faculty members, and collaborative research projects. Visits by BISTU faculty members to Nakhchivan State University are planned for April and May 2027.
Chinese professors are expected to deliver specialised courses, conduct joint research with NSU academics, and organise training sessions and scientific seminars in information technology, cybersecurity and digital technologies.
The agreement with BISTU will expand NSU’s international academic cooperation and strengthen Azerbaijan–China ties in higher education.
