NATO PA DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL TO VISIT BAKU
NATO PA Deputy Secretary General Andrea Chellino will visit Baku on July 23. As Milli Majlis Deputy Chairman Ziyafat Asgarov informed AzerTAj, the purpose of the visit is to acquaint with the situation in the region and discuss the agenda of the NATO PA's Rose-Roth seminars to be held in Baku in November this year. Issues connected with conflicts in the world and South Caucasus, misbalance of armament in the region in the result of dislocation of the Russian military bases from Georgia to Armenia, as well as Nagorno Karabakh conflict and violation of peace regime and armament of the aggressor are included into the agenda of the seminar.
Due to the words of Ziyafat Asgarov, Azerbaijan has partly achieved its intention. Two years ago, conduction of the seminar in Baku was disputable, while currently it has been completely solved. After the discussion, the issues will be considered in the Assembly session.
Besides NATO, other authoritative international organizations, such as European Union, are interested in Azerbaijan, the MM Deputy Chairman stressed.
NATO PA Secretary General Douglas Bereuter and representatives of 41 world countries will participate in the workshop.
