NEW PLATFORM FABRICATED IN THE SEA
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic has started constructing of the new platform on the “Guneshli” prospect.
The drilling rigs will be fabricated in the platform, which is to be constructed by May 2004. Eight bores will be drilled there so far.
This part of “Guneshli” is rich in oil and gas resources. At present, 65 percent of Azerbaijani oil is being extracted here now and 83 percent of out of which makes purely the sea oil. By estimation, 130 million of oil reserves and over 170 million cubic meters of the natural gas occur here.
