“Heydar Aliyevich, being the first vice-president of Council of Ministers of the USSR, supervised among other questions work of transport. I during ten and a half of years could head a department of transport and communications of the Kiev city committee.

Special complexities were with transportations on railways, especially, at the end of one year when each enterprise tried to send a cargo for performance of the annual task. Then, it was a strict requirement for each head from small up to the huge enterprise.

And so, during the most crucial moments for questions of maintenance of these very intense winter transportations, Heydar Aliyev undertook personally. Selector meetings, which he carried out on all immense country, on the one hand, were a sample of organization in very complicated conditions and as result - maintenance of delivery of cargoes. ON the other hand - for young party, economic workers were good school of organization in the decision of challenges.

I should note that Heydar Aliyevich supposed neither the slightest roughness, nor nervousness. I do not remember that someone in such difficult situations discharged of his post. All was based on deep knowledge of the state of affairs in this question, trust to the staff - executors and, certainly, first of all, on the highest authority of Heydar Aliyevich.

With same, and, maybe, and higher responsibility Heydar Aliyev concerns to work of transport and now, already being the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.

I could be present and act with a greeting from collective of the Kiev Underground in November 2002, on celebrations in connection with the 35th anniversary of the Baku Underground. We - representatives of many collectives of undergrounds of the CIS countries - were pleasantly struck with all - from presence of the President at solemn assembly and a concert and personal contact with us up to his full awareness on work of collectives of the Baku Underground and Мetrostroy. Heydar Aliyevich more than hour spoke from the tribune, named many figures, tens surnames of workers of underground without any notes.
