NISA WINTER SESSION ON “NEW WARFARE AND MODERN CONFLICTS” TO START IN EARLY 2009
NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA) Winter Session on the theme “New Warfare and Modern Conflicts” will be held on January 26-31, 2009 in Baku.
The session will bring together young politicians, researchers, NGO and government representatives from NATO member states, Partnership for Peace countries, Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries.
Participants will focus on various important questions, including definition and levels of modern conflicts in the prospect of changing world order, threats to world peace, conflict resolution models – intervention and peacekeeping, politics of modern wars, transformation from tradition wars to asymmetric wars, development of modern wars and the use of WMD, terrorism, transnational crime, NATO`s role in conflict resolution and Cyber warfare.
Organizers and partners of the event are NISA, Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Public Diplomacy Division of NATO.
