OANA 18th General Assembly kicks off in Tehran

The 18th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) has got underway in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

The two-day event brings together delegations from 33 news agencies of 29 countries who will discuss various topics, including the development and strengthening of media cooperation.

AZERTAC is represented at the event by agency’s special correspondent in Germany and Belgium Vugar Seyidov, who served as OANA Secretary General in 2016-2019.

In 2016-2019, AZERTAC chaired OANA and the 16th General Assembly of OANA was held in Baku in 2019.

The General Assembly will feature discussions on making several amendments to the OANA’s Statute.

AZERTAC’s representative will address the scientific conference to be held on the first day of the General Assembly on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on media.
