Olympics to deploy 18,000 security guards a day
Baku, June 25, AZERTAC
Organizers of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics have unveiled a plan to deploy as many as 18,000 private security guards daily during the event, according to NHK WORLD-JAPAN.
Thousands of security staff will patrol the 43 Olympic venues and surrounding neighborhoods, alongside local police.
Olympic officials said that the deployment plan would ensure maximum security, even if venues are full.
Organizers also said they were satisfied with recruitment levels, despite the fact that previous games have often faced challenges securing enough private security staff.
They added that flexibility was important in terms of finalizing exact personnel numbers at venues, until spectator numbers were confirmed.
