OMBUDSWOMAN CHECKS TEMPORARY CUSTODY WARDS

Commissioner for Human Rights Elmira Suleymanova has visited wards of temporary custody at Police Departments of Sumgait town and Absheron district to familiarize with conditions of detainees and find out if they are undergone unlawful actions here.

According to the office of the Ombudswoman, Mrs. Suleymanova had one-on-one conversations with detainees, monitored the wards and familiarized with documents proving legality of their detention.

There were no complaints during the conversation on custody conditions including quality of food, provision by lawyer in accordance with established procedure, or treatment of detainees.
