OSCE CONCERNED OVER RUSSIAN JOURNALIST’S MURDER
OSCE representative on Freedoms of the Media Freimut Duve strongly condemned the Russian journalist’s murder in Tolyatti calling it “terrorist assault on the independent Russian press”. He noted that A. Sidorov had been ambushed in the park near his home and this fact evidences of the preliminary preparation for committing the crime.
Alexey Sidorov’s predecessor in the post of editor of the weekly “Tolyatti Overview” Valeriy Ivanov fell a victim to attack. I talked with RF Minister of Internal Affairs Boris Grizlov about this event and he assured me that situation in the Samara region would change drastically”, F. Duve said.
According to OSCE representative, A Sidorov, as his predecessor, was fighting the corruption and abuse of power by some officials.
