OSCE TO CONTINUE RENDERING ASSISTANCE TO AZERBAIJAN

43-year old Spaniard Herrera Ansola, being the expert on the international relations, will start activity of the head of the OSCE Baku office since February 1. He will replace Italian ambassador Maurizio Pavezi whose mission has come to an end on January 8. Till February 1, the duties of the head of Office have been entrusted to perform by Robin Seward.
Until recently, he held the post of general director of FRIDE - the independent organization, engaged in issues of democratization, peace and security, human rights and development in Madrid. He as the representative of the United Nations has saved up international experience in Haiti, Rouen, Geneva and Kosovo. In 1999-2002s, he held the post of the adviser on political questions of the Interim Mission of the United Nations in Kosovo.
It is noteworthy mentioning that Jose Luis Herrera Ansola will supervise over 5 international and 14 local boards of OSCE. The Baku office of OSCE assists Azerbaijan in realization of principles and obligations of the structure through rendering support to carrying out reforms in system of justice, economic diversification, development of civil society, instructing policemen, strategy of environment, gender equity and election system.
