OSCE TO SEND TO AZERBAIJAN 30 LONG-TERM AND 450 SHORT-TERM OBSERVERS ON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The OSCE will send to Azerbaijan 30 long-term and 450 short-term observers on presidential elections, statement of the Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, Ambassador Jose Luis Herrero Ansola said.
Ambassador Jose Luis Herrero Ansola in his statement noted that the ODIHR continues preparatory work on observation of presidential elections in Azerbaijan. He reminded that in July the Bureau had sent to Azerbaijan an evaluation mission which has published its report. On its basis, the OSCE in August will send to the country 30 long-term and in October - 450 short-term observers.
Head of the OSCE Baku Office stated that the Parliamentary Assembly of this Organization would not observe the presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Jose Luis Herrero Ansola made explanation to this end. “President of the OSCE PA Joao Soares said that they mostly attach to the parliamentary elections, and they have no enough human resources to monitor all the elections in the OSCE space,” he stressed.
