The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) kicks off June 26 in Strasbourg, according to press service of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The delegation of Azerbaijani parliamentarians includes Gultekin Hajiyeva, Qanira Pashayeva, Rafael Huseynov, Sabir Hajiyev, Aydin Mirzazade, Aydin Abbasov, Elmira Akhundova, Fazail Ibrahimli and head of the delegation, Chairman of the Parliament’s standing commission on international relations and inter-parliamentary ties Samad Seyidov.

The session’s agenda includes issues of implementation of resolution #1480 regarding the mandate of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation, election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights, freedom of expression and respect for religious beliefs, results of the 3rd summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe, position of the Parliamentary Assembly as regards the Council of Europe member and observer states which have not abolished the death penalty, ratification of the Framework Convention for the protection of national minorities by the Council of Europe, and other questions.

The session wraps up on June 30.
