PAKISTAN ALWAYS TO SUPPORT AZERBAIJAN
As informed to AzerTAj from the press-service of the Ministry of Defense, President Pervez Musharraf has shared his impressions about meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the conducted negotiations, has emphasized, that his country cooperates with Azerbaijan in political, economic and defense spheres.
Having expressed gratitude to President Pervez Musharraf for warm reception, colonel-general Safar Abiyev has told: “Our peoples are brothers, and we are always together. Today the question of settlement of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict is for Azerbaijan people on the first place. In the given question, Armenia forges the history and deceives the international public. We by all means shall release our lands occupied by Armenia.
Having touched then the Azerbaijan-Pakistan cooperation in the field of defense, colonel-general S. Abiyev thanked President Pervez Musharraf for the conditions, created to representatives of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan for education in the higher military schools of Pakistan. The Minister has noted, that this cooperation successfully proceeds and in the near future under the instruction of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan, the military attachй of Azerbaijan will be appointed.
Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev has emphasized, that owing to prompt development of economy of Azerbaijan, the western states pay to our country special attention and has informed President Pervez Musharraf about existing military-political situation in the Southern Caucasus region. He has told: “Azerbaijan and Pakistan have similar problems – Nagorny Karabakh and Kashmir. The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has openly stated support of Pakistan in the question of Kashmir”.
In conclusion, President Pervez Musharraf has told: “I am grateful to Allah that you have economic base and Azerbaijan is a prospering country. Pakistan always will be on the side of Azerbaijan. We know about your needs and we help you in strategic and political spheres. I wish you successes and victory. We shall celebrate the victory together”.
