PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS IN GEORGIA
The CIS observers generally gave a high assessment to the Sunday elections, also pointed out the shortcomings and irregularities during the elections. For example, compiling, publishing and correction of the lists of electors was not systematically done. The lists contained many imperfect data, inaccurate information. In contrary to the Election Code, the lists have been hung only on November 1 at the polling stations and they were not hung in several at all.
Some 70 observers from 10 CIS countries lead by the secretary of the CIS Executive Committee Yuri Yarov, were participating at the observation. The final report on the elections will be presented at he 14 November session of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly in Sankt Petersburg.
