PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV SENDS GREETINGS TO PARTICIPANTS OF BAKU INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “EXPANDING THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN CROSS-CULTURE DIALOGUE”
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a message of greetings to the participants of the international conference “Expanding the Role of Women in Cross-Culture Dialogue” kicked off in Baku on Monday.
The message reads:
“Esteemed participants,
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you on the start of the Baku Forum, and best wishes for your long life, good health and success.
It is very symbolic that your forum is taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan, which embodies cultural values of both the East and the West and, has been bridging the two civilizations along the historic Silk Road over the centuries.
In our country, which has rich experience in cross-cultural dialogue and distinguished traditions of tolerance, women have always contributed to resolving society concerns.
In all periods of the world history, women have been major guarantors of peace, stability and peaceful coexistence. Today, they continue to exert their efforts towards defending interests of future generations, and better understanding among different countries and cultures.
No doubt women will continue to make valuable contributions to enhancing cross-cultural dialogue.
In the rapidly globalizing world, political, religious and cultural figures, scientists and mass media representatives have opportunities for intensification of the dialogue among civilizations. It is their purposeful and effective activities that overcoming the threats of cultural confrontation can result in successful dialogue.
I believe that encouraging the expansion of women’s role in the cross-cultural dialogue, the forum in Baku will become an unforgettable event for each of you”
