PRICE-RAISE IS OF TEMPORARY CHARACTER
“The recent price-raise for some foodstuff in the country is in no way connected to the upcoming elections and increase of wages, pensions and allowances. Prices take shape in compliance with market economy features, demand and supply ratio”These are words of the chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission on economic policy Sattar Safarov to AzerTAj correspondent. The issue on increase of wages, pensions and allowances was scheduled as early as 2002 during discussions on draft law on state budget. Head of the State gave special directions to tackle this issue in an economically sound manner. That is why price raise can in no way be connected with this increase. Therefore, the government takes relevant measures to stop price raise. For instance, in accordance with foreign negotiations, sufficient quantity of grain is to be purchased and delivered to Azerbaijan.
