PRIVATE MEETING BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV AND PRESIDENT OF ROMANIA ION ILIESCU
After the official welcoming ceremony, the Presidents of Romania and Azerbaijan met in private. Both leaders highly valued the significance of this visit and expressed confidence that it would play an important role in bringing the existing relations up to a higher level. The Presidents widely discussed the prospects of Azerbaijan-Romania bilateral relations and touched on the issues of regional cooperation and international situation. They expressed satisfaction with the mutual efforts to foster development of the Azerbaijan-Romania cooperation, as well as with the activity of the intergovernmental commission. The Heads of State also exchanged views on the regional security issues and focused on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
