PROSECUTOR GENERAL CONDUCTS EXPANDED OPERATIVE MEETING
General Public Prosecutor Zakir Garalov presided at the meeting. In his report Mr. Garalov has noted, that in 2006, representing exclusive value in history of the Azerbaijan Republic experiencing a new stage of revival of independence, the country has reached significant successes in all spheres of life, the statehood has become stronger, the economic power quickly grows. He has especially emphasized, that owing to the purposeful state policy of President Ilham Aliyev, in 2006, the country has gained all-round social and economic progress, construction of the legal and democratic state has continued. The Republic successfully integrates to the world community. As a result of delivery in operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the country’s economic power has strengthened, and it is among the advanced countries of the world on GDP rate, has become stronger, and was reached substantial increase of living standards, owing to opening about 500 thousand new workplaces, the level of unemployment and poverty downsized up to 29 percent.
Having emphasized, that the last year became the important period for bodies of the Office of Public Prosecutor, Mr. Garalov has noted, that investigation activity of the Office of Public Prosecutor has advanced, also has raised the efficiency of procedural management of investigation and rightly was organized the work in other directions of the activity, established by the Law “On Public Prosecutor”.
Award by Head of the State before the professional holiday of the Office of Public Prosecutor with high state awards and conferment with special ranks of a big group of employees of the Office of Public Prosecutor, the measures directed on improvement of social conditions of workers of prosecutor bodies, the further improvement of its staff have been noted as a high estimation by the President of Azerbaijan.
The chief of organizational-analytical department Azizaga Hasanov has told about the implemented work plan of Public Prosecutor for 2006. Discussed were the measures, performance of which is stipulated in first half of 2007.
First Deputy General Public Prosecutor Rustam Usubov has reported at operative meeting on the measures accepted in the field of the further improvement of structure of the State Office of Public Prosecutor.
General Public Prosecutor Zakir Garalov, summing up the operative meeting, has noted, that bodies of Public Prosecutor have very important tasks. He has emphasized, that in interrelation with other law enforcement bodies, will be taken necessary measures for protection of political stability and tranquility, which is the basic guarantee of creative work carried out in the country, strengthening of combat against criminality, reliable protection of state independence, the democratic rights and freedoms.
