Queensland schools evacuated

A total of nine Queensland schools have been evacuated after receiving threatening phone calls, mirroring recent events in Sydney and Melbourne, according to The Australian newspaper.
Education Queensland has confirmed the number of schools that received the calls, but hasn’t said which ones were affected.
However, media outlets have named the schools as The Gap State High School, Bounty Boulevard State School, Surfers Paradise State School, Oxenford State School, Caningeraba State School, MacGregor State High School, Buddina State School, Townsville State High School and Glenmore State High School.
Queensland Police say the evacuations were similar to those in NSW and Victoriabut are yet to release further details.
The Queensland cases came as NSW police responded to threats to more of its schools on Tuesday, following earlier cases on Monday and on Friday last week.
NSW police said the latest cases appeared to be hoaxes.
