On 7 August, First deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade received the delegation led by the deputy finance and economy minister of Iran, Director General of the Chief Department of this country Masud Karbasian.

Noting that after the official visit of the outstanding statesman, President Heydar Aliyev to Iran, bilateral relations between the two countries have acquired higher level, the guest wished the esteemed President quick and successful completion of his examination and treatment and return to the country. The guest also requested to convey his warm congratulations to the Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev with his new appointment.

Updating on his meetings he held at the economic development, finance and tax ministries, Masud Karbasian informed on the talks on the inter-state customs regulations in the field of goods and passenger transportation, combat against trafficking, ensuring of medical security, unification of the efforts in the field of prevention of offences. Expressing his gratitude to his Azerbaijani colleagues for high organizing of the visit, the guest noted that the Baku meetings would yield effective conclusions for strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Highly assessing the existing economic-cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade said the customs bodies of the two countries are responsible for mutual interests and develop the economic links. Noting the necessity of improving the legal base for business links at the customs checkpoints, Artur Rasizade positively assessed the work done by both countries’ customs organs. He stated that it is necessary to continue the bilateral meetings and exchange of experience to achieve the accrued problems and ensure realization of the inter-governmental agreements.

The parties had a comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.

Chairman of the customs committee of Azerbaijan Republic Kamaladdin Heydarov, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iran Abbasali Hasanov and ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan Ahad Gazai were participating at the reception.
