RESPECT TO THE MEMORY OF MARTYRS

This very day, the conference started in the Baku Entertaining Center (BEC).
Presidential aide on economic questions Ali Asadov has read at the conference which takers place under presidency of the vice-president of the World Customs Organization on the European region, the commissioner of customs service and financial protection of Hungary Yanosh Naj, the congratulatory message of the head of the Azerbaijan State Ilham Aliyev to participants of action.
Then, chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov in his remarks has told: “The conference being the important event from the point of view of development of cooperation between customs services of WTO member countries and the international organizations, will stimulate the further expansion of connections. Due to carried out by our national leader Heydar Aliyev in the name of construction, development of the independent Azerbaijan state and maintenance of its worthy place among the states of the world effective internal and foreign policy, and successfully being continued now by President Ilham Aliyev, the international connections of Azerbaijan, its cooperation with many countries of the world extend and become stronger even more. Formation of customs service of Azerbaijan holding a worthy place in world customs family also is connected to the name of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. The business ties established the last years with many international organizations, including with customs services of WTO member countries, and purposeful work done in this direction brings the positive results”.
Chairman of the Committee has reminded, that during expansion of the international trade and economic, cultural, scientific and technical connections, Azerbaijan closely cooperates with other countries on all branches of economy that is considered one of major factors for the positive changes occurring in development of customs affair in region, simplifications of international trade and attraction of foreign investments into the national economy.
Kamaladdin Heydarov has expressed confidence that conference, having created more exact representation about customs business in region as a whole, will open ample opportunities for detailed discussion of new forms of fruitful and all-round constructive cooperation.
WTO secretary General Michel Danet, having expressed to the management of Azerbaijan gratitude for creation of conditions for the organization and carrying out of conference at a high level, has told: “Some questions should find the urgent resolution as they make a basis of the program of development of tactical questions which should be comprehensively considered at conference. Offers are grouped so that various interests have been submitted in the corporate form, and results should be ready up to the end of 2006. In this sense, we have a lot to do. Positions of the commission on preparation of strategy, and also the governments, which should go on negotiations, and our positions in this direction should coincide, and it is necessary for all of us to cooperate fruitfully.
The manager of the Central customs and excise management of Belgium Noel Kolpin has stated the opinion on present position of Auditor committee of WTO, the senior expert of Austrian customs service Alfred Nepf has presented the brief review of customs priorities during presidency of Austria in the European Union.
Executive director of the Interpol Jean - Michel Lubutan in the statement has stopped on cooperation between bodies of customs house and police and has noted, that joint interests of structure represented by him and WTO consist in the further strengthening of connections for conducting struggle against criminality.
At conference, presentations on some themes have taken place, the report by results of the meeting, which have been carried out by heads of customs services of Belarus, Lithuania and the Russian Federation has been signed.
The Conference will continue on February 3.
