ROMANIA WANTS TO DEVELOP RELATIONSHIP WITH AZERBAIJAN
Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureke told in his interview to AzerTAj reporter, that commodity turnover between the two countries in 2003 was 10 mln dollars. According to him, under the existing favorable conditions, the parties intend to increase the number by several times. Romanian businessmen are going to invest in various sectors of the Azerbaijan economy, he said. The Ambassador also announced that a meeting of the Romania-Azerbaijan joint commission would be held in Bucharest in October this year to discuss the issue more thoroughly. In the course of the visit by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Romania expected during this period, the parties will sign agreements on further expanding trade and economic relations, mutual protection and encouragement of the investments, he said. These documents according to Mr. Ureke, will promote intensification of our interrelations’ development. Altogether, Romania considers Azerbaijan as its strategic partner and is very interested in broadening of the relations, he finalized.
