Samsung shows new generation LCD displays

Baku, December 2 (AZERTAC). Samsung announced creation of a new technology for manufacturing LCD displays (liquid crystal displays).The company showed the display, created on technology Super PLS (Plan to Line switching). According to a representative from Samsung, in perspective the new development will be able to replace technology IPS (In Plane Switching). Unlike IPS-matrix, the new development provides wider viewing angles. Furthermore, screens Super PLS are 10 percent brighter, Onliner reports.

The new technology supports the resolution of WVGA. Importantly, the creation of displays Super PLS costs approximately 15% cheaper than the IPS. Mass production of such screens will begin in the first quarter of 2011.

Samsung says that the new technology will be widely used in smartphones and tablets.
