SOCAR REPRESENTATIVES COMPLETED THEIR VISITS TO PROVINCES
The meeting in Lankara University was attended by Milli Majlis deputy Ahad Aliye, academician Fuad Gasimzadeh, and corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences Vasim Mammadaliyev.
During all the meetings, the report on the oil strategy by Eldar Shahbazov was well welcomed with a great interest. It said that the first oil contract signed on 20 September 1994 and required USD 8-10 billion had become vitally important event and went down to history as “Contract of Century”. Until now, 22 oil contracts with the expected budget of USD 55-60 billion have been signed with 30 companies form 20 world’s countries. The signature of contracts and their ratification in the Milli Majlis may seem simple to many. The preparation of each contract became possible as a result of strained negotiations. Ilham Aliyev, who was responsible for SOCAR’s foreign economic relations successfully coped with this work. As a result, realization of these contracts by 2010 will allow to produce 45-50 million tons and 18-20 billion cubic meters of gas yearly. It was noted that accomplishments gained in the oil sector are the results of oil strategy developed by President Ilham Aliyev and implemented by Ilham Aliyev.
