SOCAR Vice-President Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh: Azerbaijan is able to supply Nabucco with gas alone
Baku, April 19 (AZERTAC). “The volume of Azerbaijan`s gas resources enables the realization of the Nabucco project without a participation of other Caspian states”, First Vice President of SOCAR, academician Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh said at Fifth International Caspian Oil and Gas Trading and Transportation conference.
The 3,300 kilometer long Nabucco pipeline is able to supply 26 to 32 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to European countries, notably major natural gas hubs in Austria and Germany.
According to Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh, hydrocarbon resources of Azerbaijan include around 2 billion tons of oil and 2,2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
The Nabucco project is developed by the Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH. The shareholders of the company are OMV (Austria), MOL (Hungary), Transgaz (Romania), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), BOTAŞ (Turkey) and RWE (Germany).
