SOLUTION TO PROBLEM OF GAS DELIVERY FOUND
The problem of transportation of natural gas produced from “Shahdeniz” field to the Turkish and further European market is positively solved, Majid Karimov, the Minister of Fuel and Energy of Azerbaijan told AzerTAj reporter. According to him, 6,6 bln cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas will be delivered to Turkey, and 0,8 bln cubic meters - to Georgia. The field’s capacity, however, is much higher, and we are sure that there will be a need for an additional pipeline to provide gas to the European countries, the Minister said. In this relation, the negotiation with South European and Balkan countries are hopeful. Turkey and Greece have already signed an agreement on construction of the system of pipelines connecting the two countries. The agreement implies laying 280 kilometers long pipeline Ankara - Alexandropulos. The project will be financed by the government of Greece.
