Baku, March 19 (AZERTAC). The soonest resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is vital for the region, said German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle.

Accorindg to stern.de web-site, Westerwelle met with the Armenian President as part of the South Caucasus trip and discussed the ways of settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Minister called on the conflicting sides to look for compromises and put all efforts into finding a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Stern.de underlined that Nagorno-Karabakh is a territory of Azerbaijan according to international law, and these lands are still under occupation of Armenia, the weak nation which is virtually dependant on Russia in the conflict.
