Central Election Commission announces that the Organization Islamic Conference has spread a statement on October 15, 2003 Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan to the effect that the elections had been held in accordance with the Constitution and Election Code of Azerbaijan Republic and watched by lots of local and international observers. The OIC delegation led by Hamdi Irmak, according to the statement, did not face any irregularities - presidential Elections in Azerbaijan met all the international standards.

The OIC representative Hamdi Irmak arrived in Baku on October 14 in the capacity of international observer and while visiting some polling stations in Baku monitored good organization work of the commissions. Having visited 16 polling stations in Sumgait, Baku and Absheron district on the day of Elections, Hamdi Irmak witnessed good knowledge of commission members, free observation of election process by local observers and free voting of electors.

Upon completion of the election process, international observers closely watched the closing and calculation of votes at the polling station No10 of the first Binagadi election district No8. According to them, all necessary condition for calculation of ballots and free observation of the election process were created.

Presidential elections conducted on October 15 met international requirements, statement concluded.
