“STRATCOM 2026” – The global media community’s vision for the future

The fifth Strategic Communication Summit (STRATCOM) continues in Istanbul.
The first day of the event featured discussions on topics such as “The New Framework: A Strategic Communication Perspective,” “Shaping the Security Architecture of the Future: The Role of Türkiye’s Defence Industry,” “Actors and Leader Diplomacy in the Mediation Process,” “Transformation of Global Public Opinion in the Digital Communication Ecosystem,” and new priorities in climate diplomacy.
Within the framework of the summit, a “Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Joint Working Commission and Committees of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye Joint Media Platform” was signed between the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. The document provides for the further deepening of institutional cooperation between the parties, the improvement of joint activity mechanisms, and the strengthening of coordination.
The second day of the event began with the participation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hakan Fidan discussed recent global developments, the steps taken or that could be taken toward resolving these issues, the role of the media in these processes, as well as Türkiye’s mediation role.
Today’s panel sessions include discussions on “From Regional Tensions to Global Fractures: Strategic Implications of the Iran War,” “Future of AI in Strategic Communication: Challenges and Opportunities,” “Being the Voice of Conscience Amidst Conflicts,” “A New Paradigm in Communication: Information, Power, and Narrative,” “Strategic Communication in the Age of Uncertainty: Crises and New Balances,” “Women Leaders’ Perspectives on Global Crises and the Quest for the Future,” and “Rethinking Soft Power in an Age of Fragmentation: Influence and Limits.”
Azerbaijan is represented at “STRATCOM 2026,” hosted by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, by a delegation led by Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency.
