TERROR ACT COMMITTED IN MOSCOW’S SUBWAY STATION “RIGA”
As was informed by law enforcement bodies of Russia, as a result of powerful explosion on the preliminary data, which are specified, was lost 10 people and 34 wounded, 10 from which are in a heavy condition.
Currently, investigation to the case was launched. Employees of law enforcement bodies have surrounded the area of explosion.
On the preliminary data of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow, survey of district and the splinters found there give the basis to assert that it was act of terrorism. In opinion of law enforcement bodies, it has been accomplished by terrorist-killer which tried to pass in the underground and make explosion there. At the moment, it is the basic version, which is developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and FSB of the Russian Federation.
Arrived on the area of incident, Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov informed journalists, that the woman – killer tried to pass in the underground, however, having seen militiamen on duty at the entrance, unwrapped and has passed some meters and in the middle of crowd of people has started the explosive filled by bolts and other metal subjects. Capacity of the explosive, which have worked at station of the underground, made of one kg TNT equivalent.
On the fact of explosion, the Office of Public Prosecutor of Moscow has launched investigation on the article of "terrorism".
