TERROR BLASTS SHATTER ISTANBUL
By early estimation, the explosion killed 25 and wounded over 400 people. As stated, number of the killed is to be increased, because the ruins are not removed entirely.
According to senior doctor of the Istanbul Hospital Ambulance Taksim Suleyman Bayragdar, 12 corps and 95 wounded were brought to the hospital.
The police found and neutralized a bomb that did not detonate near the Istanbul Tourist Center Topgapi. The police urged the people through TV and Radio channels not to go to Levent and Beyoglu districts by car in order to avoid jam and allow fire and police cars move freely.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey made a statement, whereby strongly condemned the terrorist acts. As it was mentioned, the terrorist acts were committed since Turkey supported USA and established cooperation with Israel.
The Central Bank of Turkey also spread a statement. The statement urges local citizens and foreign investors to show restraint. Financial operations are under control, it says.
The Justice Ministry has forbidden unveiling some information in media in order to ensure free investigation. Responsibility for the explosions was taken up by Al-Kaeda.
Police and gendarmerie forces in all cities of Turkey put in alert, while measures of safety were toughened before the foreign embassies.
A special commission under the government was formed and squads are working in the explosion places.
Interior Minister of Turkey Abdulgadir Aksu stressed that the explosions are similar to those committed on November 15 near the synagogues.
