TRACECA CORRIDOR’S COMPETITIVENESS GOES UP
Azeri, Kazakhstan and Georgian working groups adopted decision to put into operation the first container train on Poti-Baku-Aktau-Almaty on December 24 in the course of sitting held in Tbilisi, December 5-6, press-service of Azerbaijan State Railway department reads.
Azeri delegation led by deputy head of Azerbaijan State railway Department Igbal Huseynov, as well as representatives of Baku International Trade Port and State Caspian Shipping attended the arrangement. Container train consisting of 24 cars will be dispatched from Poti port twice a week.
Representatives of Bulgaria proposed on participation of Warna and Burgas ports in this project.
Putting into operation of Poti-Baku-Aktau-Almaty route will let increase competitiveness of TRACECA corridor and container ferry traffic.
