TURKEY PREPARES FOR NATO SUMMIT
As correspondent of AzerTAj in Istanbul informs, particular attention is given to safety issues. In the Palace of the International Congresses and Exhibitions after Lutfu Kirdal where will pass the Summit, in hotels where will stop the heads of the foreign states and governments, more than 6 thousand policemen will be ensuring safety. "Turk Hava Jollary" has warned about possible delay in arrival and flying away of planes in Istanbul on June 28 and 29.
On the eve of Summit, great was done in Istanbul on accomplishment. Since June 26, the center of Istanbul will be closed both for transport, and for pedestrians. Entrance and exit will be allowed only to the citizens living in this area, and the persons having special passing. Also work of the underground will be limited. These restrictions in city center are reflected and in a daily life of the population. Therefore, many residents of Istanbul take three-day holiday and leave the city.
The meeting of Ministers of Defense and chiefs of the Joint Staffs of Armed forces of the NATO member-countries will take place on June 27. The work of the session of the heads of states and governments will begin on 28 June.
