TURKISH-AZERBAIJANI FRATERNITY UNBREAKABLE
Greeting the guests, Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament said: “Leader of the people of Azerbaijan and the entire Turkic world Heydar Aliyev has special contributions in establishment of the friendly and fraternal relations between our countries. As unforgettable Heydar Aliyev said we are one nation and two states. Our brotherly ties will further strengthen. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev worthily continues the policy of national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev and support by the Turkish state enables us to tell it. We must increase our efforts for realization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Erzurum projects that are the results of the farsighted policy of Heydar Aliyev, and meant for development of economic development of both our countries and the region. Realization of these projects will play a particular role in improvement of welfare of our peoples.
Murtuz Alaskarov updated the guest on the inter-parliamentary ties, on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and Azerbaijan’s fair position for settlement of the problem.
He also reminded on his invitation for his Turkish counterpart to pay a visit to Azerbaijan.
Mr. Abdullah Gul expressed his gratitude for cordial reception, conveyed greetings of the Turkish chairman of Parliament to Murtuz Alaskarov, noting that “we must try to realize Heydar Aliyev’s wishes that he did not have time for. The BTC MEP will be completed in 2005 and Azerbaijani oil will be transported to the world markets. This means the happy future of Azerbaijan. As for the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict we adhere the position of Azerbaijan”.
Abdullah Gul stressed the necessity of inter-parliamentary links between the two countries.
The parties had exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
