UNIBANK SUMMING UP SEMIANNUAL ACTIVITIES
On results of the second quarter, actives of bank have made 149,4 billion manats, that for 33 percents exceeds the corresponding parameter of the beginning of year. Quarter growth thus has made 10 percents.
Total amount of the involved deposits, having increased for the first half-year almost 2 times, has made 43 billion manats. On share of deposits of physical persons, it was necessary about 82 percents or 35 billion manats, while legal persons - 18 percents or 8 billion manats.
For the second quarter the credit portfolio of bank has increased for 21 percent and has made 104 billion manats. It exceeds corresponding parameter of the beginning of year for 41 percents. In total amount of credit portfolio on the hare of business - credits 69 percents or 72 billion manats, and on the share of consumer credits - 31 percents or 32 billion manats were necessary. In structure of portfolio of business - credits for the share of financing of the sphere of manufacture it was necessary 32 percents, trade - 43 percents, constructions - 9 percents, spheres of services - 6 percents and 10 percents came on the share of other credits. In structure of consumer credit portfolio, the share of the credits given on purchase of automobiles, has made 71 percents, the real estate - 7 percents, furniture - 4 percents, household and office equipments - 2 percents, and 16 percents have fallen to the share of other consumer credits.
Incomes of bank for 6 months of this year have made 12,8 billion manats, charges - 9,1 billion manats. The profit for this period has made 3,7 billion manats.
The first half-year of this year was marked for bank by a lot of the important achievements in various fields of activity.
As has noted Mr. Faig Huseynov, UniBank became the first bank in Azerbaijan, which has carried out within the framework of program TACIS «Development of stock market of Azerbaijan», issue, and successful accommodation of corporate bonds by means of the Baku Stock Exchange. By bank it has been carried out two releases of bonds with the subsequent full accommodation at a stock exchange for a total amount of 15 billion manats. The tenders on realization of the given securities were the largest transaction in the history of the Baku Stock Exchange.
Significant step on way of the further expansion of field of activity of bank was creation of affiliated leasing company UNILEASING that in opinion of management of bank will play important role in creation of conditions for effective development of financial leasing in Azerbaijan.
Also it has been informed, that on April 18-19, 2004, in London, at annual assembly of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UniBank premiums in a nomination “Most actively developing bank under the Program of Trading Financing by the European Reconstruction and Development Bank in 2003 in Azerbaijan” have been awarded. It was confirmation of successful realization by bank of the given program supposing granting to the enterprises of the European Reconstruction and Development Bank confirmed with a guarantee of guarantees and letters of credit, and foreign trade promoting, in turn, development in the country.
The next successful stage in development of relations with the international financial institutions became achievement of the agreement between the Bank and Islamic Corporation for development of private sector about allocation to bank of a line of financing at a rate of 1,7 million US dollars on assistance to development of small and medium business. Conclusion of the said agreement was signing the Memo of conditions of cooperation.
On June 28-29 this year, UniBank as a unique bank representing Azerbaijan, took part at the Congress “Export and Investments into sphere of small and medium business in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe”, spent in Germany. Organizers of the Congress were the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the International Forum of Bankers, and also representatives of Group of the World Bank - IFC (the International Financial Corporation) and MIGA - Multilateral Agency on Warranting Investments.
The bank also has continued the vigorous activity in the field of development and offers new products and services. Having entered structure of international payment system Visa International, the Bank has started to realize plastic cards of this system, having developed thus a new product - plastic cards VISA with monthly charge of percents on the monetary rests on card accounts. Besides it, realization of the traveler’s checks most known and widely used in the world “American Express”, advantages possessing a lot has been started as payment means.
The Bank also has developed the project “Gold Deposit ”, representing stimulating lottery with monthly draw of prize - a gold ingot in weight of the maximum test of 100 grams (999,9) - among the investors.
