On August 11, in Crimea, President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and Chairman of the executive committee - CIS Executive Secretary Vladimir Rushaylo discussed the issues of preparation to the regular meeting of the heads of CIS members states to be held in Astana / Kazakhstan/ on September 15-16.

They also discussed the results of V. Rushaylo’s working visits to Commonwealth states, and proposals on improvement of the activities of the CIS structures, in the first place, in economic spheres press-service of the Ukrainian president reports. The sides also focused on the preparation of the CIS observer missions to coming parliamentary and presidential elections in a number of Commonwealth’s countries including Ukraine.
