Uzbek journalists visit AZERTAC

A delegation comprising the Uzbek journalists, including Nizomjon Islomov, correspondent of the “aniq.uz” news portal, Shuhrat Shokirjonov, Editor of the international news desk at the “kun.uz” portal, as well as Sevara Rahmagullayeva and Khayrullo Kuranboyev, anchor and cameraman of the “ikbol” TV channel, visited the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) on Friday, along with Yusif Mammadov, Administrator of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, hailed the high-level, friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He stressed the great role of friendly ties between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Vugar Aliyev noted that under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the glorious Azerbaijani Army had liberated the country’s territories, putting an end to the three-decade-long occupation. The Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC also highlighted the ongoing large-scale restoration and reconstruction works in the liberated territories.
Vugar Aliyev mentioned the gradual resettlement of the former IDPs in their ancestral lands, briefing the Uzbek journalists about the Azerbaijani historical, cultural and religious monuments destroyed during the occupation, including the bullet-riddled monuments in Shusha.
Highlighting his recent visit to Uzbekistan and meetings he has held there, AZERTAC Chairman of the Board expressed his confidence that the Uzbek journalists would convey their impressions from the visit to the liberated territories, as well as the Azerbaijani realities, including the acts of vandalism committed by Armenians and the ongoing mine threat there to the world community.
The journalists said they were deeply impressed by their visit to Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli, Shusha, Aghdam, Lachin, and Zangilan districts, including the ongoing large-scale restoration there. They also touched upon the opportunities for media cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek journalists shared their impressions from their visit to the secondary school No. 1 named after Mirzo Ulugbek in Fuzuli, describing it as a manifestation of brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the Uzbek delegation was informed about the news production at AZERTAC, as well as the agency’s foreign correspondent network. The parties also exchanged views on media and journalism.
The Uzbek journalists familiarized themselves with the exhibits displayed in the museum section of AZERTAC, which highlights the participation of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in various media events, their interviews with local and foreign media, the address of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief to the people during the Second Karabakh war, his visits to regions liberated from the occupation.
The journalists also familiarized themselves with working conditions in AZERTAC's newsrooms, multimedia editorial office and other departments, and talked with staff members.
