Vatican Secretary of State to visit Azerbaijan

Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin has said he will visit Azerbaijan as he met with Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Holy See Ilgar Mukhtarov.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vatican, highlighting the importance of these relations in terms of promoting inter-civilizational, inter-religious dialogue, as well as tolerance worldwide.

The Holy See Secretary of State asked Ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov to convey his greetings to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, saying that he will visit Azerbaijan this year.
