VOLUME OF SAVINGS AND DEPOSITS INCREASES

The amount of funds and deposits attracted by the banks of Azerbaijan by March 1, 2004 made up 3320,7 billion manats. It is by 8,8 percent higher in comparison with January 1, 2004 and by 23,4 percent higher than that of the same period last year, AzerTAj correspondent has learnt from the press-service of the National Bank.

579,5 billion manats or 17,5 percent of the sum is the national currency while 2741,21 billion manats or 82,5 percent – foreign currency.

The natural persons made 1357,6 billion manats deposit by the first of March and it is by 53 percent higher than that of the same period last year and by 7,8 percent in comparison with the first of January.

For the above-mentioned period, juridical persons made deposits to the amount of 1963,1 billion manats which is by 9,5 percent higher in comparison with January 1, 2004 and by 8,9 percent higher than that of the same period last year.
