Water levels increase on river Kura
Baku, January 18 (AZERTAC). The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan announced the results of the water availability studies conducted January 18 on the rivers.
According to research, water levels reached 80-200 percent of the ten-day norm in the rivers of Guba - Khachmaz region of the Greater Caucasus, 80-150 percent in the rivers of Lesser Caucasus, 40-160 percent in the rivers of Lankaran - Astara region and 50 percent in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
An increase in the level of water content by 4 cm has been observed in Gyragkesemen point of Kura river. The Water Flow point was 130 cubic meters per second.
In recent days, due to the increase in air temperature in the country and the melting snow in the midlands, an increase in water level in downstream of the river Kura is observed.
Currently water level in Surra poin of Kura river is 450 cm, in Shirvan - 327 cm, in Salyan - 270 cm, in the Bank - 243 cm, in Novruzlu point of the Araz river is 195 cm.
