The World Health Organization does not rule out the development of a new pandemic of flu in 2004. A new pandemic of flu to embrace the whole planet is imminent the next winter. This forecast is based on analysis of the pathogens circulating among people.

The WHO recommends the countries to start preparing for the possible outbreak of flu as soon as possible by stockpiling vaccines and viricide. According to WHO director, doctor Chong Wook Lee, the next epidemic will be pandemic. Unfortunately, most countries do not have possibilities enough to cope with it. The next winter will be harder than over a couple of years as mutation of cultures will lead to formation of new viruses to which people do not have immunity.
