World`s population to reach 7 billion
Baku, August 19 (AZERTAC). Census indicate that before end 2011 the world will have 7 billion people living in it. One billion of those will have been added in only the past 12 years.
According to the French research institute INED, the world will enjoy 8 billion people within the next 14 years. And, the institute alleges, by the turn of the century there will be a staggering 10 billion people inhabiting earth.
Especially Africa will see an explosion of people where women give birth to five children on average.
At present, China has the most homo sapiens walking around, 1.13 billion, but by the turn of the century, it will lose its top position to India which currently counts 1.17 billion people.
The United States is a distant third with only 306.8 million people. Indonesia takes the fourth spot of most populated area on earth with 243.3 million individuals and Brazil closes out the top five with 191.5 million people.
Along with the expansion of people arise issues that governments are already addressing today: electricity, water, food, housing, medical facilities, assistance and other necessary requirements must grow at the same time as the world`s population to provide earth`s most common creature with basic living comfort.
